In collaboration with the Norwegian Embassy in Berlin Performing Arts Hub Norway has initiated a seminar series in which a number of Norwegian and German theatre workers are to go deeper into the Norwegian-German contemporary theatre discourse. We wish to anchor the seminar series to specific projects in the Norwegian-German theatre landscape. The National Theatre collaborates with the German theatre collective Rimini Protokoll on a commission work performed during The Ibsen Festival 2012. In Bergen BIT-Teatergarasjen has an ongoing collaboration, also with Rimini Protokoll, about a production opening the autumn of 2013. The production John Gabriel Borkman by the performing arts duo Vegard Vinge and Ida Müller sold out houses in Berlin. The Nordwind Festival focuses on all of the Northern countries, and asks why Norwegian performing arts currently represent the most interesting. Several German venues and festivals (Ruhrtriennale, Festival Theaterformen, New Plays from Europe, Theatertreffen, Theater Junge Generationen) invite Norwegian performers or participators.

The seminar series aims to:
- Strengthen and promote Norwegian-German performing arts collaboration, and to stimulate long-term collaboration.
- Define aims and visions to ease priorities in a long-term perspective (for instance in choice of efforts), plus support innovation.
- Strengthen connections to important German theatre networks.
- Increase international interest for Norwegian performing arts and internationalisation of Norwegian theatre communities.

The Other Eye #1 is arranged during The Ibsen Festival 2012 (Saturday August 25).
Germany vs. Norway: About exchanging theatre strategies.
German theatre is heavily represented in The Ibsen Festival 2012. Meanwhile Ibsen is heavily represented in German theatre. We ask our panel of experts about the dynamics between Norwegian and German theatre.

The Other Eye #2 is arranged in Germany the autumn of 2012/the spring of 2013.

The Other Eye #3 is arranged during The Meteor Festival in Bergen the autumn of 2013.

The Other Eye #4 is arranged during The Nordwind Festival in Berlin/Hamburg the autumn of 2013.
